The Valspar Foundation announced $64,000 in scholarship awards to 32 exceptional students pursuing postsecondary education. The Valspar Scholarship program recognizes scholastic and community achievement by the daughters and sons of Valspar employees, awarding $2,000 on a competitive basis. The $64,000 in scholarships will be awarded in August for the 2015-2016 academic year. The awards are based on academic performance, demonstrated leadership, participation in school and community activities, work experience, career and educational goals and objectives, and an outside appraisal. The students awarded Valspar Scholarships are: Brandon Anderson, of Davis Junction, Illinois, son of Chad Anderson, studying Nursing at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa. Brandon Bartley, of Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, son of George Bartley, studying Forensics at Robert Morris University in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. Benjamin Behnen, of Bloomington, Minnesota, son of Timothy Behnen, studying Psychology at University of Northwestern – St. Paul, in St. Paul, Minnesota.
